Information we use

When you visit, Microsoft Azure handles technical request details, such as your IP address, browser information and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site. We do not run advertising or a contact form on this page.

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you include and your message. You do not have to send an enquiry.

Why we use it

We use technical request details to make the site available and secure, and your email to answer your enquiry and continue a discussion you start. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running this website and responding to people who contact us.

Our providers and data location

Microsoft provides the Azure Static Web Apps hosting and the Microsoft 365 email service. Static site files are distributed globally; the Azure resource is configured in East US 2. Technical request information may therefore be processed outside the UK, including in the US. Microsoft's Data Protection Addendum describes its transfer safeguards. Email us if you want more information about those safeguards.

We do not sell your enquiry details or use them for marketing lists.

Cloudflare and site analytics

Cloudflare is our CDN and security provider. It processes visitor IP addresses and request details to serve and protect this site. It may set a security cookie if it presents you with a challenge. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views without analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails while we deal with your question and any continuing discussion, then delete them when they are no longer needed, unless a legal obligation requires longer. We do not keep a separate visitor history. Cloudflare provides page-view totals; Microsoft may hold technical service records under its service terms.

Your rights

You can ask us to see or correct information about you, request deletion or restriction, or object to our use of it. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
